Birmingham Live reports:
Microsoft users have been warned passwords will be deleted for millions in a matter of days. If you’ve ever used Microsoft Authenticator to manage your passwords, users are being warned to export them or risk them being lost forever.
June 2025 has seen people were no longer able to save new passwords in Authenticator, and users were shown a message warning them of coming changes. July 2025 saw people now unable to use autofill with Authenticator.
Payment information will be deleted and in August your saved passwords will no longer be accessible in Authenticator and will be deleted. Microsoft says “any generated passwords not saved will be deleted”.
