Chosun Biz reports an update to a previously disclosed breach affecting Tiffany Korea:
Tiffany & Co., the luxury jewelry brand of LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy), announced that it became aware of a leak of key personal information, including customers’ names, postal and email addresses, and phone numbers.
Through a notice on the 15th, Tiffany Korea said, “Despite having prioritized the protection of personal information, an unauthorized external access led to a leak of some customer data.” The data includes: ▲ names ▲ postal and email addresses ▲ phone numbers ▲ purchase-related records ▲ internal customer identification numbers.
According to the company, on May 13 a third party without authorization appeared to have accessed part of the customer data, and the company identified this internally around Sept. 15. Tiffany said it immediately reviewed its security framework and strengthened its system defenses.
