More than a dozen dental practices have recently disclosed data breaches.
Six of them are dental practices linked to Soniva Dental. Soniva has 14 locations in Texas and Massachusetts, and as of yesterday, six of its Texas locations had notified the Texas Attorney General’s Office of breaches:
- Agave Dental Floresville – 11790 Texans affected
- Allwyn Dental – 4013 Texans affected
- Azle Smiles – 9444 Texans
- Kashi Dental – 6027 Texans affected
- Mysa Dental – 3394 Texans affected
- Wilson Dental – 3476 Texans affected
Soniva Dental’s website is currently offline with a note about “scheduled maintenance.”
While the ransomware gang known as The Gentlemen claimed responsibility for the Soniva Dental breach, another group, CRPxO, has recently claimed responsibility for attacks on other dental practices:
- Creative Smiles Pediatric Dentistry
- SF Smile Doctor
- Bishop Arts Dental PLLC
- Top Notch Dentistry of Dallas
- Benjamin H. Wang DDS Inc.
- Leah Walker Orthodontics
- Elko Dental Specialists
- ProSmile Family Dental Care
None of the non-Soniva entities listed above have issued statements confirming or denying the claimed breaches.
Other dental practices have been attacked throughout the year by numerous other threat actors.
