Russia has been accused of being behind the Jaguar Land Rover cyber-attack that cost the UK £1.9billion.
The British car manufacturer was last year targeted by hackers, following similar digital strikes on Marks and Spencer and Co-op, with MPs continuing to demand the government opens up on the probe.
A group of hackers, including some based in the UK, soon took credit for the attack, but now investigators suggest a Russian collective might be behind the costly incident.
Private-sector cyber-response specialists as well as law enforcement officials from both Britain and the US claim the motivation and methodology of the attack do not line up with those from the initially suspected hacking group, the New York Times reports.
