Apple has agreed to pay US$95 million to settle a lawsuit accusing its digital assistant Siri of listening in on users’ private conversations.
The proposed settlement filed in an Oakland, California, federal court on Tuesday came with Apple holding firm that it did nothing wrong.
If the settlement is approved, class members would be eligible to get no more than US$20 per Siri device if their private conversations were captured without permission.

Forbes adds that to be eligible, you need to be based in the U.S. and an owner of an Apple device between Sept. 17, 2014 and Dec. 31, 2024. They report, “A website to confirm this will be set up within 45 days and you then have until May 15, 2025 to file your claim.”
